Kayak: Making Travel Easier

When booking your travel online, you're likely searching different sites for the best deal. None of the sites seem to have the same features or a standard that is easy to keep up with. But good news: that's now a thing of the past. You may have noticed our Kayak banners around the site. Kayak is a different type of travel booking site aimed at making it easier for you to find the best deal.
So how does Kayak work?
The beauty of Kayak is its ability to search for travel from not only airlines, but all the other travel sites and travel agencies as well. Kayak is not an online retailer like the other sites. It is essentially a search engine pulling from all the different sites so that you can get everything you're looking for in one spot. Other sites merely offer what they have, not what others have as well. This limits your ability to compare prices between the sites and also limits your buying capabilities. With Kayak, you're easily able to purchase from the retailers site with the click of a button.
Kayak was formed by the founders of Orbitz, Travelocity and Expedia who were looking for a better online travel booking experience. They boast that everyone from the CEO to their geeky techno engineers' answer emails from their users and pride themselves on truly listening and reacting to them. They challenge their users to test them by sending an email in which they will personally respond to. Such personal service is not found on other travel booking sites.
What are the features?
Kayak searches from over 140 different travel websites to get you the best deal. It works very similarly to sites like Expedia and Orbitz with a simple form to fill out with your city of departure and destination, the dates you wish to travel, number of travelers, round trip or one way, and also searches for hotels and rental cars.
What's even nicer about Kayak is their ability to expand your search. Perhaps you're looking for the cheapest flight and not necessarily the closest airport. With Kayak you have the ability to include nearby airports in your search as well.
They allow you to choose a non-stop preference if you wish. This is a feature I use often as I absolutely hate to spend any more time than necessary in an airport. I'm almost always willing to pay extra for the convenience.
If finding a flight, hotel and car rental isn't what you're looking for, they also have a section dedicated to cruising. This is a feature I love. It works just the same as booking flights, but you simply put in your cruising criteria instead.
Kayak also has a section for exclusive travel deals. Choose by destination or the let the deal choose your destination for you. Either way, it's incredibly easy to use and it's all in one place.
Perhaps you're looking to book a vacation package to Disney or some other destination. Believe it or not, Kayak can do that too. I've often spent hours fumbling through web pages looking for the best package deal and Kayak brings them all to you through their site.
Kayak has revolutionized the way we book travel by bringing all the web's options to one place. It's amazing that someone didn't think of this sooner. Their user friendly format, filtering and sorting capabilities make Kayak the number one choice for booking travel online.
