The Best of the Best: US Hotels

Part of the fun of business travel (if you can find anything fun) is being able to experience new things, including hotels. While you may not always be staying in a top-notch suite, both extravagant and inexpensive places can harbor unexpected treasures. Sure, you could research tons of U.S. accommodations to find an awesome place to stay on your next trip, or you could check out this list of the best hotels in America based on 5 unique criteria: the most affordable, the most posh, the best food, the most to do, and the best for business.
The Best for Business: Four Seasons Resort and Club, Dallas at Los Colinas, TX
The Four Seasons Resort and Club, Dallas at Los Colinas was rated 2008's number one business hotel by Travel & Leisure Magazine. The luscious grounds are nestled in the Texas hills where you can enjoy a round of golf on one of their two incredible golf courses, work out in their 176,000 square foot athletic facility, or soak it up in their world class spa. They have unbelievable meeting spaces perfect for any business function and they even host The Hall of Champions; a collection of golfer Byron Nelson's memorabilia. It's truly an entertaining spot for buttering up potential clients or impressing the boss.
The Most Posh: The Peninsula, Beverly Hills, CA
After undergoing intense renovations, The Peninsula is one of the most exclusive hot spots in Beverly Hills. With Rodeo Drive a mere stone's throw away, you can enjoy some of the best couture shopping, live it up lavishly while sipping cocktails on the hotel's rooftop garden, or even summon a valet from your bedside. It's all about class and sophistication at this French country estate style getaway, so be sure to check out the amazing spa too. You might not be able to get out and see the sights, but just being seen in this hotel is enough to make it in the tinsel town tabloids.
The Most Affordable: Cadillac Hotel, Venice Beach, CA
Somehow the Cadillac Hotel has managed to completely remodel its guest accommodations with modern décor and give guests an ocean or bay view for around $130 a night. Situated near shopping, restaurants and cafes, the hotel is actually located smack dab in the middle of the historic boardwalk of Venice. While you might not get to enjoy hob-knobbing with Hollywood's finest, the Cadillac has everything a business traveler could want and is only 7 miles away from LAX.
The Best Food: The Little Nell, Aspen, CO
Imagine cozying up to a wood burning fire as you gaze out your window to see deer frolicking on a white powder-kissed landscape. This is no fairytale at the Little Nell. As if the amazing view and scenery weren't enough to make you want to come back to this treasure nestled in the steeples of Aspen Mountain, the food is to die for. Chef Ryan Hardy serves up the flare of infusion with everything from Alaskan Halibut to Zucchini Risotto in his elegant lodge style restaurant. And, with over 20,000 wines to choose from, you'll never be without the perfect complement to your meal.
The Most To Do: Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas
I'm sure you were wondering when Vegas was going to pop up on this list. Well, here it is. There is no bigger adult playground than Vegas whether you're traveling for business or pleasure. The Mandalay Bay hotel is the cream of the crop when it comes to all inclusive resorts. If you ever decide to leave your beautiful room, venture down to the white sands of their gorgeous beach-like pool. Or, head out to the House of Blues to see your favorite band or to the Shark Reef for a little aquatic enlightenment. Of course, there's always the world famous gambling, golf, dining and shopping you could do too. In all likelihood, your trip will probably not be long enough to do all that there is to do. But, you'll have a lot of fun trying.
It's probably not feasible for any of us to stay at the Four Seasons on every business trip, but the Cadillac Hotel might be. There are plenty of gorgeous hotel properties in this country just waiting to be explored. If you have favorites, list them in the discussion. Tell us where they are and what you like about them.
