Silly Slips of the Tongue

As office professionals, we deal with customers, clients and co-workers on a daily basis. While it's part of our jobs to interact with these people, we all occasionally slip and say something silly. Just when we think we're articulating intelligently and making profound statements, our mouths freak out and ruin everything. I am certainly not immune to the woes of tongue twisting blunders. Whether we fumble over words or say something we wish we could take back, it happens to the best of us. Here are some of the "duh" inspiring experiences I've had:
You Too
How many times have you been at a restaurant where your server has just brought your food and tells you to enjoy? Then, you open up your mouth with, "You too!" This poor waitress has probably been working 8 hours on her feet and I tell her to enjoy? Ugh! I hate it when I say that.
Oops
As a receptionist, I was used to answering phones. I always had the same spiel: "Thank you for calling (insert company name here). This is Libby, how can I help you?" But, in one moment of intense heads-down work, the phone rang and I answered with a chipper "Hello." Thank goodness it was my boss and he had a sense of humor about it.
All Night
I once overheard a co-worker of mine speaking with a client on the phone. They discussed the client coming in to drop off some documents needed to complete a tax return. I inferred by my co-workers answer that the client asked how late we would be in the office. My co-worker then replied, "We'll be here all night until 6."
What time...
When my cousin worked for a movie theater in a large college town, he would tell me tons of interesting stories. But, there's one question he was asked quite frequently that always made the two of us laugh. "What time does the 7 o'clock movie start?" He always handled it quite professionally by simply answering their question.
Just Water Please
Just the other day my fiancé and I went to breakfast. After a few minutes our server greeted us and asked "Would you like to care for a cup of coffee?" As we pondered the question, we decided that we weren't ready as a couple to care for of a cup of coffee, so we opted for water.
I'm sure you have your own tales of blubbering blunders so share them in the discussion. What are some of the silly things you've said or that have been said to you? Please tell me I'm not the only one who makes a mockery of themselves...please.
Talk about it
