So fun!I needed a lift this morning to get me going and this was perfect!

But, I would have to add Mary Richard (Mary Tyler Moore)to the list. She was the classic example of the single, cool, smart yet vulnerable assistant to Mr. Grant. That show will go down in TV Land history! I remember dreaming that I would have a cool loft apartment just like hers! And the clothes.....how I wanted her wardrobe!

Some other, perhaps somewhat disturbing but also prototypical "Hollywood" assistants to note are the characters from AMC's "Mad Men". Fantastic show but boy -- makes me glad times have changed for admins (at least legally) from 1960!

Great line-up. I always loved Mrs. Wiggens. And I'm showing my age by admitting that I saw those skits when they originally aired!

The one hollywood assistant that I will always love is Delores Landingham on West Wing. She was the Executive Assistant to the President of the United States. What I loved about her was that while she was always respectful of the President, she also didn't take any guff off of him or anyone else. She was a thorough professional, always on top of the game, and always in control of what was happening in her office.

Great list, however does depict that the male executive assistant is a minority. I would have added Marc St. James from Ugly Betty to the list.
