Hi Kathy,

It's actually interesting that "The Secret" has been mentioned way before the book ever was published. There's been many self-help documents way before it, but it really does help.

I've had some dark times in my past and positive self-talk has gotten me to where I am now. I love my life, I feel successfull and it doesn't mean that you have to make a lot of money, just that you are happy with what you have in your life.

Great article Kathy. I agree with Rrinyai above. When I left my 9-5 career as a high level EA to start my own business as a professional speaker and to provide professional development workshops for APs, I was terrified, but very excited. I used that attitude of excitement and focused on all the things I wanted to do. I often "heard" myself giving little self-lectures and visualizing myself helping other admins be successful. It really was amazing to see how my new path unfolded in front of me.

I also believe strongly that our past does not have to define who we are now or in the future. That's a powerful principle and empowering when internalized and applied.

I've read "The Secret" and though it's true the universe in all it's majesty can provide some amazing opportunities for us, those opportunities don't become reality without hard work, commitment and faith in ourselves to be our best. Then we will "do" our best and that's what makes all the difference in life.
