I have found that one sure fire way to boost morale is plain good old fashioned recognition. It doesn't have to cost a lot. It can be as inexpensive as a simple "thank you." It really helps for people to know that their good work has not gone unnoticed, or unappreciated. In my office, our CEO makes it a point to thank people for their hard work, and congratulate them on their accomplishments.
