Re: What Makes Us Passionate About What We Do?
Great article, Toni!
Since experiencing the "exit ramp" symptoms myself three years ago I responded to the gut feelings and that's when I went out on my own to do speaking and training. I think your article speaks to many points that often APs are afraid to admit to themselves. Your comments regarding continually evaluating ourselves is paramount. I wondered why my evaluations took a little dip during this phase of my self-renewal (that's what I like to call it!). Things like, 'follow through on projects' and 'attention to detail' were areas that my boss seemed to have concern with. This was not the norm for me. At first it really bothered me and I projected the blame on everything and everbody but me! Soon I couldn't ignore the gut feelings any longer. I was ready for the leap and needed to honestly assess my current situation. When we don't honestly evaluate ourselves, our work suffers and it affects others.

Thanks for writing this. You did a great job of expressing a very difficult and sensitive subject.
