Re: In the News: Overworking Causes Health Problems
I heard about this on the radio last night and it just amazed me. The culture of "overworking" has gotten out of control. I understand that there is a "sense of urgency" in many of the cutting edge fields. I feel it too at times. The world is so fast paced, whenever you slow down even for a minute you feel like you're falling behind. The health problems are enormous. I feel horrible for this man and his family. He was working on a Toyota Hybrid, trying to create something that people really want - something that might really help push the world toward less dependence on oil. He obviously felt under enormous pressure. It makes me re-evaluate my own stress. It's really so manageable compared to so many others.
This is just an unbelievably sad story and one that needs to be paid attention to. |
