Good Morning,

I am interested in trying to find a new action tracking system for my office? Do you guys have any recommendations? Do any of you use Microsoft Tasks?

Microsoft Outlook Tasks has always been a big part of my daily system. I've also previously used it to both assign tasks to others in my office, and send a status report about the task.

When you assign a task to others you have the option to keep an updated copy in your tasks, and to have a status report sent when the task is marked complete. I've found it very useful for quite a few reasons: there was a receptionist we had for some time who was very disorganized, and unfortunately, very quick to place blame for her lack of organization. It got to the point that anything asked of her wouldn't get done, and her excuse would be 'you didn't ask me to do that!' I used Tasks to, putting it bluntly, have proof that I had passed along the task.

It has also come in handy when working on group projects where many tasks need to be divided up between a group of people, and keeping each other updated on progress.

I also use it for my own tasks. I can quickly mark emails for follow-up, create multiple to-do lists, set reminders. It helps me make sure nothing slips through the cracks. Plus, anything that works with the system I already use (IE: Outlook, OneNote) is a huge bonus for me!
