ADVANCED Help With Word!
Hoping someone can help me. I am working with a 14 page word document. Each page is a different story. My boss wants to be able to move the stories around (depending on who she is sending them to) without screwing up the pagination. I have fooled around with the page breaks, section breaks. Nothing works! I want to be able to drag & drop the contents from page 3 to page one, and then have eveything fall back into alignment.

Is this possible?????

Re: ADVANCED Help With Word!
Hi Karen, Although Word is not a true desktop publishing, it has some "hidden" tricks to help you with this type of project. What you want to do is to add the stories into text boxes which can be moved and specifically positioned within a page or moved to a different page. When a text box is selected, look for either a Text Box toolbar (Word 2003) or a Text Box Tools contextual tab (Word 2007) with options for formatting and layout such as specifying a standard size. For instance, text boxes can be linked so that text can flow from one text box to another even if they are not next to each other. This is handy when creating a printed newsletter where you may want to continue the feature story on page one to another page in the newsletter.

Hope this helps,

Re: Help With Word!
I would suggest changing the venue from Word to PowerPoint. This would make it quite simple to drag around the documents into different orders. Adobe Acrobat Professional also includes this type of functionality. Sometimes using the right tools for the job is the best answer.
