Last week I just released my brand new eBook series, "How To Avoid The Top 5 Mistakes New Virtual Assistants Make". I'm very excited about sharing this information that I wish I'd had when I first started my business three years ago.

Because we have quite a few new and aspiring VAs in this group, I thought it would be great to take a moment to share some helpful tips with them. So for all of you existing VAs, can you please share one tip on a mistake to avoid and one tip they can share to be successful.

Let's offer some valuable insight for our new colleagues!

I'll get us started:

Mistake To Avoid: Don't take on more than one client at a time! It takes a significant time and energy investment to start a new client partnership. You'll want to give this new client your very best service, so when their first starting, allow them the luxury of being your new "baby" and give the new relationship the attention it needs to start off on the right foot.

Savvy Tip: Don't isolate yourself! Just because you're working virtually doesn't mean you have to work alone. Create a virtual support system for yourself that you'll have a safe place to share your triumphs, fears, questions and concerns. My recommendations for support organization are as follows:
  1. Executive Assistant To Virtual Assistant! » Home – This is one of the very reasons I created EA->VA! To support, mentor and coach aspiring and new VAs to create successful business of their own. Write me with your questions at EAtoVA.com and look for the answers in my newsletter and on the blog. Also, feel free to comment on the blog posts. Let me and your colleagues know what you think, where you’re at and how we can support you.
  2. AssistU (www.EAtoVA.com/AssistU) – The premier training organization for Virtual Assistance. The Admissions Team is an outstanding resource and can offer guidance and support as you begin this journey.
