As you read the book this month, here are some questions to think about and discuss. I am grouping each question by chapter to make it easier.

    • Chapter 1 - Look at the voices on page 1 of the book. Do you relate to any of these voices?
    • Chapter 2 - Describe a paradigm that you think others have of you.
    • Chapter 3 - Deep within each of us is a inner longing to live a life of greatness and contribution. In what areas of your life do you feel you have found your voice.
    • Chapter 4 - What example can you think of on how the law of the harvest contrasts with our culture of quick fixes, victimism, and blame?
    • Chapter 5 - How do you manifest the four intelligences now? How could you manifest them?
    • Chapter 6 - What is the difference between managing and leading? When should you use each?
    • Chapter 7 - In your own words/way, what is a trim-tab leader?
    • Chapter 8 - "90% of all leadership failures are character failures." Do you agree/disagree? Why/why not?
    • Chapter 9 - Which of the 10 Deposits do you currently practice? Which of them do you find difficult to do?
    • Chapter 10 - What is the 3rd Alternative? How do/can you practice it?
    • Chapter 11 - Describe a pathfinding challenge you have faced. How did it go?
    • Chapter 12 - Would you say that your company and employees are align with stated/publicized goals, vision, mission? If not, why do you think that is?
    • Chapter 13 - Why is empowerment so difficult to do?
    • Chapter 14 - Choose two of the six core drivers and description a specific time when that driver was executed well or not executed well. (May refer to your company, team or family).
    • Chapter 15 - How does moral authority promote servant-leadership?
    • Overall Question - What did you learn and how can you apply it to your daily/weekly world and/or life?

Apologies if these are too much. Feel free to pick one chapter's questions or do them all. Looking forward to the discussion.

This is a great choice! I read this when it first came out and learned so much. It really makes you stop and think. I think I will read it again with the OA book group!

    Hello OA Book Club!

I'm wondering what you think about the types of books we've been reading? We've been sticking to personal and professional development books in the past. Would you be interested in expanding our selections to include contemporary and/or classical fiction, nonfiction, biography, etc? Let me know your thoughts!

And remember, if you'd like to host the Book Club for a month, you get to choose the book and write a review that will be published as a featured article on OA. So drop me a line if you're interested (chrissy@officearrow.com).

    Thanks!
    Chrissy
