I have a couple of goals this year. One is to keep my desk neater. I've resolved to spend 10 minutes every evening before I leave to straighten up my desk and make sure everything is filed properly (I don't have much filing at the moment).

My other resolution is to learn CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). I've resolved to spend at least 1 hour per week working on learning CSS. Last week I did more than an hour. I was looking at my blog's CSS and learning why everything worked the way it did when I realized something wasn't working properly. Took me another hour or so to figure it out, but I finally found out why it wasn't working and fixed it. I was quite proud of myself.

    Title: Help!

RubyTuesday - I agree with Midge that this sounds like a very interesting tool. It would be awesome if you could share it with the OA community. If you need help uploading to the template page let me know. Or, just email it to me and I'll upload...chrissy@officearrow.com. I would love to have a one sheet task tracker! Thanks!

    Hi Roni,
Focus on qualities that demonstrate you know how to "complement" his or her style so that together you will make a great partnership.

Execs also don't usually want assistants who tell them what they want to hear - they want to know you will tell him what he needs to hear. That's an important quality.

    Good luck!

    Title: I love lists!

Jodith, I agree with you, I keep almost all of my lists electronically... My electronic system, however, is Palm. I like using the Palm so that I can see my lists when I'm out and about as well as when I'm in front of my computer... What are some of your "more unique" lists? I have a "Waiting" list... here is where I put all the items that have been "promised" to me (like that order from Amazon, or the email from a friend with a phone number I need, or a call from a prospective client). If enough time goes by without the "waiting" item going away, I move it to one of my other lists (like "computer" - to send an email, or "Phone" - to call with a reminder).
