Re: No Thanks! How to Avoid Interview Rejections
Yeah so true. I even take it one step further and within the ad instruct them to go to our website and include in the cover- what makes them a fit for the company.

And then I ask that they submit a word docx so I have my asst look thru and turn on the "paragraphs marker" in Word and determine if the applicant knows the basics functions of Office. Its always disappointing to see the old …………. Instead of a tab symbol.

I've almost given up on running paper-electronic ads because I have had so much success using online marketplaces for recruiting, like talenmaze and dayak.

I can post anonymously and set my own fee. Dayak even allows me to submit job postings via phone. So my assistant can handle that for me too.

Interesting method you use there, lbrooks. I like it. Checking for basics in Word is great. I don't think I've ever used the "paragraphs marker." I'm going to have to give it a whirl. Thanks for sharing!

Can you suggest a free tutorial or give some ideas for self teaching on Word? Thanks.
