Is My CV Effective
I am a part time PA and need to obtain a full time position. I am looking to relocate to London and have been applying for PA, Executive Assistant and Private Personal PA posts. I have not recieved any positive reponses as of yet. This may be due to the present climate but I am not sure what areas I am falling short in. Could you please look at my CV and see if there is any guidance you can give. I do struggle on writing covering letters.

I would be grateful for any constructive feedback you can give and any tips on finding a job in the city.

Thank you

Sorry I meant to call this a RESUME, being English we use different terminology.

I agree the economy is not welcoming to job seekers; however, it depends on the industry you are searching. I work in higher education and statistics show that when people loose jobs, they seek education which is great for me! Nevertheless, I did review your resume and the formatting is great - it's easy to read and flows nicely. The 'achievements' lists are great too!

I made some minor suggestions by using the 'comments' feature. (see attached with suggestions) By the way, what does your cover letter say? Do you briefly mention current job accomplishments, reason for the job search, or even certifications? The cover letter is important because employers receive many resumes a day. The cover letter is going to decide whether you get a second look or not.

According to an article in Office Pro Magazine written by Joan Burge, employers are looking for the following in assistants: technically savvy, excellent communication and organizational skills, time and project management, appointment scheduling and meeting planning, detail oriented, flexibility, self-motivator, team player, and eager to learn, to name a few.

Hope this helps, good luck in your job search!

Dear Dewoun

Thank you for your reply, and comments my Covering letter consists of bullet points of the skills that I can bring to the company. I appreciate that you added comments to my CV/ Resume but I was unable to access it to view them. Could you try and attach it again for me. I might not be opening it properly as it goes to the template section on office arrow.

Thank you

Cancer,
Impressive resume'!

Not sure why you can't open it and review the comments; I didn't have any trouble and I just joined today. This is my first post as I'm just browsing around getting familiar with the site.

There were a couple of errors I caught so please run your spell check and check the grammer before finalizing.

Best wishes in your job search!
