Retiree needs a job. What type of resume do I need?
I have been retired for a number of years. I worked as a teacher of both young and high school students and finally was department head of the library services in a large high school.
I have some ideas for jobs but when asked for a resume the typical formats don't really apply. How should I set out a summary of experiences and accomplishments?

Hi Bennie,

I would recommend starting with a functional resume. We have an article titled Make Your Skills Stand Out with a Functional Resume. This article outlines the benefits of this type of resume and it would be perfect for you since you are going to re-enter the work force after a leave. A functional resume allows you to highlight your skills versus the jobs you have held.

Good luck with your job search!
