Re: Convert Vacation
I created a cheat sheet in our master PTO spreadsheet to show how PTO is calculated. This may help you. We get 10 days for the first year from hire date, then on our one year anniversary we begin to accrue 15 days a year. The accrue rate is 0.83 days per month for 10 days/year, and 1.25 days per month for 15 days/year. Here you go:

Employees are given 10 days of vacation for the 1st year of employment, then 15 days of vacation after the one year anniversary

How to calculate vacation time:

For new employees:
=(10/12*x)
x = number of months employee will be with the company for the calendar year (i.e. start date is 4/1, then x = 9.)
7.5=(10/12*9)

For employees with 1st anniversary date in that year: (example: employee started 4/1/08 and PTO calendar is for 2009)
=(10/12*x)+(15/12*y)
x = number of months before anniversary date
y = number of months after anniversary date
x + y = 12
example: employee anniversary is 4/1: =(10/12*3)+(15/12*9)
13.75
