Hospitality International Student.
Hi everyone,
I am recently a Graduate International student in Hospitality field in Miami. My school requires that every student from this major has to complete 1000 hours working experiences before going for the internship as well as the graduation. As the job market is frozen right now, I learn that it is so difficult to find a job, especially if you are not US citizens or permanent residents. I have been doing everything I can from sending email to walking in to apply for a job for few months. However , I could not hear anything from any employer. Can anyone please give me a suggestion in this situation? Should I continue to find and grab whatever opportunities I have or stay calm and wait for the jobs market getting better? Thank you and I really appreciate for any of your advices. Kind regards, Vanlam |

Re: Hospitality International Student.
Does your college offer any type of Career Services to help you find a job? Also, visiting area hotels or restaurants and find out if they offer internships to college students. Some internships are paid some are not.
Watch the bulletin boards at your college and area colleges. Another suggestion is to network with other college students or friends to help you get a job. If you know someone that works in the field you are in see if they can help pass your resume along to Human Resources. |

If you can afford to work for no pay for a while, many places would *love* to have an unpaid intern. Even if you do that parttime while working full time elsewhere, you'll be building your hours up toward your graduation.
