I have a question about a vacation accrual policy.

Here is an example of the accrual policy:

90 days after hire - 3rd calendar year = 2 weeks

4th calender year - 10th calendar year = 3 weeks


My question is what is the end of the first calendar year if a person starts in May? Say for example May 2003. Would the end of the first calendar year be Dec. 31, 2003 or 2004?

Does your Employee Handbook give any detail? If not, I'd suggest asking your HR manager for clarification.
