Back in the job search...
After 14 years in a corporate enviornment, I took a couple of years off for family concerns. That was in 2005. Since 2007, I've been searching for a "good fit" in the work world with mixed results...primarily through staffing agencies. Most recently, I decided to pursue a civil service position with 911 in the SF Bay Area...after 5 months, I did not make the "final cut" and was released from the training program. Now I need to figure out how to tie in 5 months of my life that have pretty much nothing to do with other business positions I'm trying to get back into...my passion is project management, however much of what I've done related to that is adminstrative in nature, so an EA or Admin Assistant position will work for me too. Any suggestions on how to turn my professional history into a solution for current employment prospects? I've attached my updated resume for any suggestions...one in a traditional format, one with contract work separated out. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Back in the job search...
Helen,
Your resume is lacking a bit of pizzazz to make it stand out. Your experience is good, and if you are considering admin positions, I would suggest highlighting those skills in a separate heading. You might condense and tighten up the paragraph descriptions and instead use bulleted statements that pop out to the employer who is scanning it. Also, remove your statement about why you left - leave that for the interview. __________________
