Re: Managing the Micro-Manager
Oh why didn't I know about OA to get help with this 4 months ago. I was so wrapped up in the concept of the organization (Patient Advocate Foundation) and what they did (plus a close friend had recently passed away from cancer) that I totally ignored the warning signs of the interview (e.g., her family works for the Foundation because she needed someone she could trust among other things). The woman actually thought I should dedicate my after work hours in getting her inbox (7000+ messages) and e-mail organized - within a week! When she set up a meeting with three others (one was a co-worker) to redefine my job description (for the third time in five months), I knew it was time to leave...I'm a lot less stressed now. God bless anyone who can deal with a micro-manager.
