I've always been curious to know if the Reference Initials are really necessary, especially when writing a personal note or a business thank you letter from my executive. He either dictates it to me or I pretty much just write it for him. He'll of course read it over to give the official okay. Why does the reader need to know that I typed it for him? I feel that makes the letter/note impersonal.
