My company recently sent out a customer satisfaction survey. As they have been coming in one of my co-workers has been opening them and reading them in the privacy of her office. When they all come in she plans to give them to the independent reviewer. Some of us feel this is unethical (and unfair). What the boss does not know is that this employee 'does not play well with others' and has had numerous disagreements with her co-workers.
Are there any guidelines for reviewing surveys that we could show the boss?

We just had an employee engagement survey and did it anonymously in the office by putting our forms in a box that was then reviewed and compiled by two HR persons. There is also the option of online surveys such as Survey Monkey.

I would speak to your boss about the situation. If you only have one person reviewing the survey results they could arbitrarily throw any comments out that they don't agree with.
