Micro Manager
I have been an office professional for over 30 years. I have been assigned to a person who has a personality I have never encountered.

He micro manages and questions every decision I make. I am not use to this. All of my previous supervisors have appreciated the fact that I am proactive and anticipate what needs to be done and take action.

This supervisor faults me for thinking on my own. He questions every decision I make and tells me I should have discussed it with him first.

This is totally foreign to the way I am used to working. Can anyone give me some suggestions that might help me handle this situation?

Re: Micro Manager
I feel your pain! Most of us have probably encountered a micro-manager duirng our career. If this is a new assignment, it may be that he is not yet comfortable with your making decisions. It's the "getting to know you" period. I would suggest getting some time on his calendar to discuss your work style. You may need to compromise and adapt for now, and hopefully once he becomes more comfortable with your abilities, he'll loosen his control. If not, request a transfer.
