Re: Managing People: New Series
Terrific idea for a series! In my training and speaking on leadership, one of the key points is to help people realize they are leading and "managing" people no matter where they are in the organization - even if they don't have the title of manager. So, this series will be very helpful. Successful APs realize that building others and influencing rather than 'telling' is the key to managing up and across. Looking forward to more in this very useful series!!

Re: Managing People: New Series
I find this series to be so timely. I spent 10 years in sales management before making a career change. Two years later I find myself leading a group of assistants, and I'm enjoying it! My mantra has been "partnership." Encouraging the assistants to partner in the success of those they support has taken the secretary mentality out of their daily work load and helped them see that their daily accomplishments result in success. Morale has turned around and we are more effective as a team! I applaud this topic and look forward to reading more!

Re: Managing People: New Series
Glad that you guys are looking forward to reading this series. I loved writing it and putting the new strategies to the test. Please share your thoughts along the way and let me know what's working for you. Lhawkins - I like the idea "partnership" - that's really essential and a great mentality to have. Thanks for sharing.
