Company picnics
I'm writing a book and I'd like to include your ideas. Any creative ideas for announcing the company picnic to the employees? This is what I have so far:
Send an email with a special dessert for the first eight employees that RSVP. Or enter employees that RSVP by a certain date in a special drawing or additional game tickets. Have an employee walk through the office dressed in a themed costume handing out flyers about the picnic. Set up a table near the door where employees can drop their RSVPs into a picnic basket. Have employees sign up in advance for pie eating contests or watermelon seed spitting contests. Send out an email challenging someone to beat the ones that have signed up. Add a line about the picnic to all of your in-house email signatures, memos and correspondence. Have the invitation blown up to poster size and displayed prominently at the entrances and near the elevators. Put colorful flyers on the door of the bathroom stalls. Send out pictures from past years picnics. Include the funny ones where people are acting goofy, laughing, and having fun. Announce that company appreciation gifts will be handed out at the picnic Announce that the annual picnic will be a fund raiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, United Way or the company non profit of choice. Announce that the senior management will be in a dunking tank at the company picnic or they will be able to participate in a pie in the face event throwing pies at their boss. Text everyone the day before the picnic saying you cant wait to see them there. Thank you for your input!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Company picnics
Here's a few ideas:
Put something in the paychecks when they go out. Create a "jingle" and do a companywide voice mail message to "sing" the picnic announcement. Have a contest between departments to see how many from each dept attend. Have each department come up with a game to play at the picnic and give a prize for the best game. Come up with some fun and weird criteria the games have to follow. (i.e, not just Tag, but a crazy version of tag). __________________

Re: Company picnics
Have the Owner/CEO/GM work the grill - as a "celebrity" chef. Advertise this in the invitation.
Ask staff to bring one of their favorite desserts. (This is a tradition for one of our corporate clients.) Pass out custom tattoos with the invitation for staff to wear in order to attend the Picnic. Good luck! |
