Re: The Secret's Out: Top Meeting Planners Reveal Their Best Tips
Thanks for this article. I especially appreciate Tip #3. I have seen many leaders duck out of meetings or show up late-- and I honestly believe they do not see this as inappropriate behavior. They are trying to squeeze more into their schedule. Unfortunately, many eyes view this.. and then others believe it is ok for them to leave. Perhaps a solution is to build time into the agenda (announce it at the beginning of the meeting/session) for people to step out/ take calls/make calls & restroom visits.

Thanks again for the article.

I agree with kfoley311. The meeting facilitator can make an announcement at the beginning of the day. Somthing to the effect of, "We truly appreciate your committment to this edeavor and your time/day committed to this event. We also realize that important business matters will continue to occur while you are here. Therefore, to allow your full concentration so that your full participation lets you get the very most out of our discussions, we have pre-scheduled restroom and business breaks to allow you to contact your offices. At this time, I would request that your cell phones be turned off until the first break."
