Tradeshow Turnoffs: Five Ways to Repel Visitors from Your Booth
You've had your tradeshow booth for five years. It's a bit worn and dated, but it still serves its purpose. Oh well, you think, you'll just cross your fingers and hope no one notices at this year's tradeshow. If this sounds like your company, think again. And read on...

These were amazing points. I use similar educational tips with my clients. I try to have them see it from the consumers stand point: if you don't present quality and attention to detail, what does that show the client!?! So treat your booth much like you would retail sapce. If your place of business is dirty, messy and disorganized, you probably will walk in and walk right back out. Treat your booth much the same way. Many exhibit houses, like mine, will refurbish (clean-up) your exhibt for low cost. You can even slowly start upgrading your booth. All these go a long way to continually present a fresh face to your clients.

Re: Tradeshow Turnoffs: Five Ways to Repel Visitors from Your Booth
hi Deborah,
Based on the brilliance and insight of your article, I think you must work or have worked for a tradeshow displays company too (like me). At the trade show display company I work for, we regularly have past customers calling at the last minute with a problem with their display because "someone" at the previous show just shoved everything into the shipping case and didn't bother to make sure everything was packed. Lost and broken parts are all to often, but could be prevented if people would just pay a little more attention... Thanks for letting me rant.
You are also right about the importance of lighting, promotion, and more... People need to take going to a trade show serious. If they do, and they follow your advice, they can have great results.
