Project Close-Out Celebration Tips
Hi Ladies,

My boss has asked me to organise some kind of celebration for the successful close-out of one of our most important Projects. It is a team of around Cake is a routine but besides that I'd appreciate if i can get some ideas on how to celebrate on the day. Ice creams no way as the weather here (UAE) is too hot.

I was also thinking of running a powerpoint slide show in the background with pics associated with the Project.

BTW we have a staff cafeteria which can seat max 70 at a time so that's bascially where the gathering will take place. Attendace will be around same number.

Thanks.
Salwa

Re: Project Close-Out Celebration Tips
While good food and drinks are important, this is an opportunity for management to thank their employees. Every member of senior management should attend the party and stay for the duration. Your CEO should give a short speech thanking employees for their hard work. It sounds as though this will be held during normal business hours, so one idea would be to have a nice banquet during lunch and hire servers vs cafeteria style. You could have a take-away momento at each place setting commemorating the project. I like your idea of having a PowerPoint slide show.

Re: Project Close-Out Celebration Tips
I love the idea of a banquet lunch. Whenever we finish big projects, my supervisor will take us out for a nice lunch (of course away from the office). Then at the next meeting, she acknowledges the people who helped. There is nothing like a personal thank you from upper management to show how much you are appreciated. That's what I call motivation!
