Executive Assistant / Administrative Assistant (other related) Job Descriptions
Hi Office Arrow Gurus - When you are brainstorming some new and exciting experiences for us followers, would you please consider a section on job descriptions. Some basics and not so basics on how to prepare your job description...how to format it...and power wording for best remuneration results. I know there are many sites that have parts of job descriptions on-line. There are also many job descriptions available on-line. Most corporations have a human resources department that go about gleefully preparing these descriptions for jobs within their respective corporations (usually for the corpoation's benefit - not necessarily capturing the real job responsibilities). What I would like to see is an area on Office Arrow that deals with how you make your own job description, amend your current job description or punch up your job description for remuneration/wage/rate increases (goes along with yearly goal reviews). Templates on job descriptions is one way...but along with this an article or folder site where you can tap into great ways to express your individual work role and responsibilities. A reference that would enable you to correctly word the description to express your particular job responsibilities would be beneficial. Something that would state the responsibility and then give multiple examples of power wording; for example -
Responsibility: Executive's calendar Power Example1: Initiate and monitor all scheduling for Director. Power Example2: Coordinate the President's schedule amd organize meetings with multiple senior executives. Power Example3: Active calendar management for four members of the corporate executive team with meeting coordination for both internal and external meetings, travel and vacation. As if you didn't have enough suggestions!!!!! I do believe job description development is a suggestion that would benefit many administrative professionals. Thanks for listening. |

Re: Executive Assistant / Administrative Assistant (other related) Job Descriptions
Great idea, GeeBee! Thank you, thank you for sharing! Perhaps you'd like to contribute your thoughts in an article...? I'm always looking for smart folks. You seem to know a thing or two about the topic. Of course, I can also get one of our writers on it and maybe together you two could create an awesome database of "power wording." I love that! Drop me a line if you're interested.
