Letter of Recommendation
My question is simple…. when is the appropriate time to present a letter of recommendation to a potential employer and just how do you go about it?
This is my first written recommendation and even though I have an idea I would like to hear some feed back please.

Thanks in advance for any advice provided!

Re: Letter of Recommendation
Here's what I have done in the past and it worked really well: when you go to your first interview, take a nice, black folder and put the following inside:

On one side, put a copy of your resume

On the other, put your list of references (with contact info) and recommendation letter(s). For my last position, I also included a few samples of writing because they had mentioned that writing was a big part of the position.

The folders I used also had a spot for a business card on the inside so I made up a personal card with my contact info and a little "tag line" for myself. This helped to "brand" me, which I think goes a long way in standing out from the crowd.

I gave this folder to the person interviewing me at the first interview. It was a great way to start things off and it showed that I really cared and took some time to prepare my materials.

Hope this helps!
