The hardest hour of the day
3 p.m. is always hard for me. I dont know why, but every day at exactly 3 p.m, I get restless. I always take a 5-minute "power" break at 3 to get more coffee, walk around, and regroup. Do you guys have a certain time of the day that's particularly hard for you? If so, what is it? And how do you overcome it?

Glad to see that it's not just me
Personally, I think offices should take a little exercise break at 3! Workers can do jumping jacks and situps to revive themselves. I've even heard about how some offices are using treadmill desks..i think that's genius! What do you guys think? |

Re: The hardest hour of the day
For me, it's the last hour of the day. It was always hard, but now that I work four 10 hour days, that last day in the evening is *so* hard.
I try to save up mindless work for that hour so I have something to fill my time but don't really have to think about it. |

Re: The hardest hour of the day
You should keep snacks at your desk and munch throughout the day. Sometimes you just need a pick me up to keep you going.
I actually come alive in the afternoons. I am definitely not a morning person. I don't drink coffee so can't rely on the caffeine to help me wake up, so I make sure to take a nice hot shower in the mornings and take the time to eat a good breakfast before I start my day. |

Re: The hardest hour of the day
I work 8:30 to 4:00. I feel a major slump between 1:30 - 2:00. To combat the blahs I usually take a casual stroll to the ladies room to primp and freshen my face, then stop by the water coolor for fresh water and a brief, casual conversation with whoever passes by. Sharing a laugh even with a stranger is always refreshing & it's helped me have excellent relationships with everyone in my office. Also t 3:00 my office has a 15 minute (smoke) break. I don't smoke, but I take time to get some fresh air. That little change of pace carries me thru to the 4:00 quitting time.
