Latisha's resume critiquing request if you please
If there is anyone brave enough to help me fix this resume that would be splendid! I have attached my resume for your viewing and friendly critiquing. LOL Oh F.Y.I, I am currently working as a Hospital Operator (Kaiser) where as I work short Hr. weekends but am seeking 40 hrs a week. I have as you can see lots of customer service experience but just want to seem more marketable. I have always landed great paying jobs but obviously things are slow now with the economy and I am afraid my resume may be part of the problem. Thanks for all your help!

When I opened your document I immediately noticed that it was slightly difficult to read. I would use bullets (instead of dashes) to highlight your accomplishments and use a separate section for the software and applications knowledge. The stated objective is great! Did you receive any certifications? or other awards in your field (ie. Customer Service Award, Most Sales, Highest Volume, Representative of the Month)? What degree are you seeking at Devry- BA or AA? and when do you anticipate to graduate? There are three types of resumes: functional, chronological, and a combination of both which is utilizes a career profile. A functional resume highlights skills, accomplishments, and credentials. I think this is the route you should take- so in order to this you should make your accomplishments stand out to the reader. Highlighting and bullet points are very important here. Office Arrow has some great templates for resumes here is the link Documents and Templates - OfficeArrow. Hope this helps. Then the next step will be drafting the cover letter. Whew! |
