Re: New Year's Contest: Reflect and Resolve (and Win!)
1) I received the highest eval points from my boss twice and have earned his confidence and belief that I can do anything and make anything happen.
2) I am going to lose that stubborn "college weight" that has stuck around (even though I have been out of college for several years). 3)I would buy more sweaters and warmer pants to wear to work and still look professional. __________________

Re: New Year's Contest: Reflect and Resolve (and Win!)
1. What did you accomplish in 2008 that you are most proud of?
2008 was my Year of the Career. I decided last year that my resolution would be to spend 2008 improving my skills as an EA to the very best of my abilities. I have been working for the President of my company for just over two years and really wanted to connect with him as an EA Partner, not just an admin who can type and manage a calendar. I feel that he and I have definitely made great strides in this area. To do this, I set out on the mission of finding information about being an EA as a CAREER, and was extremely lucky to hit upon the grand resources of Office Arrow. I created a list of all of my 2008 accomplishements, taking note of five new software skills, three major business projects, creation of SOPs for two departments, and reading five books regarding career development/leadership. I just completed the best performace review of my career, with a phenominal compliments from my boss regarding my work skills and work ethic. 2. What is your New Year's resolution (personal or professional)? My professional resolution is to work through each of the ten SMART Goal worksheet entries that I prepared for my December 2008 year end performance review. We always go over goals for the next year, and I was so proud to have put together a comprehensive list of things that will help organize myself as well as other parts of our office, streamline functions, and save money for the firm. My personal resolution is to work with my daughter's new 4-H club to start an Etiquette Class for Grades 3-6. I will teach them such things as door etiquette, introductions, thank you notes and telephone manners, table manners and silverware usage. 3. How would you use the $100 Visa gift card, and how would it help you fulfill your resolution? I would use the $100 gift card to purchase supplies for the Etiquette Class(es), like , napkins, plates, silverware, sparkling grape juice and a fun snack on which the kids can practice all those newly acquired skills. |
