Re: Share the Love Contest
It took me sometime but I finally figured out what I like to do most. I always said that I will have to work somewhere that I can enjoy seeing as I will be spending most of my waking hours there. I absolutly love my job as an Admin. Asst. in a community hospital I love the women who work in the office with me they are a very supportive group. I also love the directors they are all so nice and kind too; it is truly a nice place to work. I will be here as long as they allow me to be here.

I work in a group of about 20 people, from clerical through management, with several different specialties. Right now, I can hear one of my co-workers laughing out loud. That's not distracting; it's music to my ears. It means that, although we are working very hard, we are still having fun! That's the best!

I love my job! I have been with my company for 2 years and could not imagine working anywhere else. My bosses and coworkers are amazing, my customers brighten my day, and I truly enjoy doing my job. I was blessed with my first born June 21, 2008. When I made the decision to stay at home full time and turned in my resignation, my company counter-offered a stay at home position. I have the best of both worlds. I get to watch my daughter grow and I get to keep my sanity by working.

Re: Share the Love Contest
I truly believe that I have the most enjoyable, fulfilling, and entertaining job on the planet! It took me six months of searching, but I believe I have truly found my home - and I'd be a receptionist here forever! My company is a well-established, well-respected civil engineering company that has been voted (by the employees) among the best employers in our city three years running! I've held a lot of jobs before, but never have I had so much fun every day. Since beginning this job, I have not once woken up and thought, "I REALLY don't want to go in today." My boss is a remarkable, intelligent, sweet, good-hearted, fun, generous, and wildly creative woman who is about to be inducted into our city's Women's Hall of Fame. The other principles of the company are brilliant, dedicated, and very sociable. Even when there's conflict, stress, and too much work to go around, everyone maintains an excellent level of realistic relaxation and humor. We are encouraged to be healthy, thriving, well-rounded people. There's a company book club that meets once a week, a walking group, a running club, a bowling team, and a volleyball team. Of the 60+ people in the company, there is only one person I don't absolutely adore - and I had a very pleasant lunch with her last week! Our company has the reputation of being reliable, efficient, productive, and fun to work with. I am so proud to be part of this team - it's really more like a family, but not in that "disfunctional" way. The office is beautifully decorated, and there's a palpable balance in the atmosphere between taking the work seriously and enjoying the company of friends. I could not ever have asked for a better job, and I will be here as long as I possibly can!

Re: Share the Love Contest
The Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau is the greatest place to work! First, my boss Jim is the best boss I have had in my 20+ years working. I have been able to work a 4 day week since gas prices went crazy last year. He understands family and the emergencies that pop up. He has a great sense of humor and is extremely fair with all our staff. My co-workers are great. Our office has an average retention of over 9 years! They told me when I started I was part of the Bureau Family and wow – was that ever true. My sons have more aunts, uncles and second moms then anyone could have imagined. Granted this is a fun, entertaining business but there is a lot of hard work and sometimes long hours. It is all worth it because I know what I do is appreciated and valued. I am thanked at least once every week!

Everyone knows I love to plan office events and thank me publically and privately for all the fun we have at them. We have a holiday party, and several in-office parties throughout the year. The Tailgate & Football game that I have been able to plan the past two years has been a big hit. We get to bring our families and enjoy each other. If we have tickets left over I am always allowed to donate them to our Wounded Warriors recovering at Fort Knox. I also get to hostess 20-25 soldiers from Fort Knox for Thunder over Louisville, the biggest air show/ fireworks display in North America (so I am told.) Our office sits directly overlooking the Ohio river were all the entertainment takes place. The soldiers love it and I love doing it for them and am thankful my boss gives me the privilege to give something back to our military. My boss knows that with all three of my sons serving in the military it means so much for me to do this.

We have fitness challenges, health assessments and Jeans for a Cause Fridays as just a couple of the little added offers from the office. I’m sure I am forgetting something huge but I really just can’t say enough positive, good, thoughtful comments about the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau.
