Re: Help Us Improve: Tell Us What You Want to See on OA and You Could Win
One quick suggestion - I would love to be able to sort the questions by date - most recent; similar to the OA News and Articles. I agree that sorting by the last time questions were accessed does give a rotating stir up and keeps recycling the items for new feedback, but being able to quickly view the most recently posted questions allows feedback on a more timely basis.

I think the biggest improvement would be to charge less for your Platinum membership. There is a wealth of information there that I could sometimes use, but find that it is only available to Platinum members. We're mostly at the bottom of the food chain here - not many of us can afford to pay $150 a year to belong to something that will benefit us at work, and not all our employers feel it is worthwhile to pay for it - especially in these economic times. If it were $20 for the year, rather than $20 for 3 months, I think I would pay it out of my own pocket, but I can't see spending $150 of my own money for it.

I would love to see more articles, tips, tricks, etc for building your team. Helping them understand how very important their role is to the company. How we have evolved from the "secretary" role! We make a difference everyday!

Re: Help Us Improve: Tell Us What You Want to See on OA and You Could Win
Also, I am always looking for ways to improve office morale without having the firm spend money, having employees contribute money, giving paid time off, coming in late or leaving early which the firm will not allow, or having employees bring something in which they won't do. Anything involving any of the above won't work here. Any other suggestions?
Also, always have information about dealing and communicating with difficult people. This includes dealing with managers and Executives. I read so many articles indicating more responsibility or a higher degree earns a higher salary. I don't find this to me true. Firms want to get more bang for their buck. They shop like we do. They bargain hunt. How much can you bring to the table for the pay they provide. They want more for less. Any articles discussing this should also indicate the other benefits of advanced training (investing in your self, become more valuable to them which can help you being passed over during layoffs, etc). |

Re: Help Us Improve: Tell Us What You Want to See on OA and You Could Win
A BIG thank you goes out to everyone who participated in our recent contest. We greatly value your feedback and appreciate you taking the time to help us improve.
Congratulations are in order for Gloria von Gesslein (OA member: ToriTori) of New Jersey. She will receive the following prizes: *A $25 Amazon gift card *A custom OfficeArrow coffee mug with goodies included Here are a few suggestions from Gloria: 1. More training We do offer a number of different training options on our Education Services page. We also have articles devoted exclusively to this subject in our Training & Certification section. 2. Contest prizes from Partners Great suggestion! We will be working with partners in the future to include as many great contest prizes as possible. 3. Site is not user-friendly. It's hard to find things since there is a lot of information presented all at once. You're right- there is a LOT of information on OfficeArrow. One of our biggest challenges is making all of the information easy to digest. Please know that we are definitely working on changing up the site to make it as easy to read and use as possible. 4. Offer Free Webinars The first webinar we offered was free and we mentioned in all of our member communications that the next webinars would not be free. They are, however, free to Premium members who sign up for either a Silver or Bronze membership. Premium members are also able to download and watch webinars after the fact. 5. I am always looking for ways to improve office morale without having the firm spend money, having employees contribute money, giving paid time off, or allowing employees to come in late or leave early. Any suggestions? Great question! We can cover that in an article, but for now I'd suggest that you post a question in our forums to see if our members can help you out. They're usually very helpful! 6. I've read so many articles indicating more responsibility or a higher degree warrants a higher salary. Any articles discussing this should also indicate the other benefits of advanced training, such as investing in yourself and becoming more valuable to your employer. We have several articles advocating for and discussing all benefits of training. These articles do cover benefits that are specific to personal development as well as professional development. 7. Share information about dealing and communicating with difficult people. This includes dealing with managers and Executives. We know that many of you have to interact with difficult people on a daily basis, and so we have a number of different articles on dealing with difficult people such as: Dealing with Difficult Co-Workers, Managing Difficult Employees, Dealing with a Grumpy Boss, and How to Deal with Problem Managers. Thanks again to everyone for you excellent feedback. We are listening to you and working to make OfficeArrow the best that it can be. Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for another fantastic contest announcement! |
