Re: Junk Drawer Galore: Enter to Win
In tidying up recently, I came across a Dab-o-Ink bingo dauber that I bought years ago in Texas (I live in VA) when my in-laws took me to Bingo because I'd never been before. I have no idea what I'm ever going to use it for, but it seems like a waste to throw it away.

A hair brush, deodorant, contact solution and toothbrush from the person I replaced. I will never ever use them, but for some reason I just can't throw them away - maybe someday she'll come looking for personal care items and I don't want to have to say that I tossed them away!

Re: Junk Drawer Galore: Enter to Win
Looking through my junk drawer, I discovered a few amusing items.
1) A hot-pink ring box. I bought the ring, wore it home, and the box stayed at work. 2) 4 rulers (just in case I ever have to measure a square..) 3) Director's phone that stopped working 5 months ago. 4) 2 rubber band balls (one self-made) 5) Various pills (probably enough to start my own pharmacy) And all that's just the top drawer! Heavens knows what I'll find if I'm daring enough to venture down further |

Re: Junk Drawer Galore: Enter to Win
OK, I have to admit that I am usually quit neat and do go through my drawer on a regular basis and purge all the stuff that I have compiled too much of - like paper clips and erasers. No matter how many times I go through my drawer I always keep one item - a round 'TUIT'. It's a medal coin type item that is round with 'TUIT' etched in it. I don't know why I can't get rid of it...but I just can't. I guess it's because you never know when you may need to get "Around to it!".

My oddest item is probably the pair of rubber "Bubba" teeth; found them when cleaning out a former consultant's desk; those in combination with the pen shaped like a bone that I got at some vendor fair make it kind of a scary place!

Re: Junk Drawer Galore: Enter to Win
I love those orange circus peanuts and purchased a bag one year (probably 10 years ago). I ate the 2-3 that I like (after that they are too sugary to eat any more), I put them out for anyone to enjoy. One of my co-workers took one, drew a face on the top part of the peanut and stuck paperclips through the middle and bottom parts for arms and legs. One morning I came in and this thing was standing (yes, it was actually standing) up on my monitor. I fell in love with "Mr. Peanut Man" and would not get rid of him. Of course, after a while he was no longer soft and became petrified. He stood, for the longest time, on my monitor then I put him in my desk junk drawer because everyone who saw it was grossed out--but I loved "Mr. Peanut Man". I no longer have "Mr. Peanut Man" so I don't know if this counts but I thought I would tell my "love" story.
