What type of printer are you asking about - in office style or a business that does printing?

For a commerical printer, locate one near your office. Introduce yourself to the manager and explain your office is looking for a new printer and ask if they can give you a discount if you use them exclusively and frequently. We do that and not only do we get a discount, but our orders are always ready first!

One of the most important things to look for is the cost of maintenance like inks, rollers, etc. If you are looking for an affordable printer you should try HP (Hewlette Packard), they provide a wide range of affordable printers that provide great quality at decent speed. Remember that in printers you pay for speed more than quality.

If the printer is intended to be used for home or small office; I’d keep in mind an all-in-one piece of equipment. Having a printer/copier/scanner/fax/phone all in one piece of equipment is less expensive and takes up less space. Now if they would only add a CPU, monitor, keyboard and mouse; we’d really be in business!
