Re: Managing Time: Organization
I hadn't read "Getting Things Done" until I did this series, and I'm filled with regret. The book was extremely helpful in getting my brain wrapped around all this new found knowledge and finally allowed me to separate things that couldn't be done right now that were always looming over my head and gave me the courage to throw things away I just wasn't sure about. I hate clutter and I found myself being a victim before this book came along. I'm constantly plagued by "what ifs" and this only made my organizational problem worse. Using the terms actionable and non-actionable in my vocabulary now makes total sense to me. My "straightening up" habits haven't really changed much to the human eye, but that's not what's important when it comes to organizing my work. I’m finally clear about what needs to be done now, what can wait, and what needs clarification to be done. I can't believe the level of stress that has been unloaded by this series as I found it incredibly cathartic for my professional life.
