boss gives no time
I have a boss who gives me an assignment to write a letter and he wants it urgently (right after he give the order) sometimes he becomes so impatient to wait so he stand behind me and say hurry. This makes me nervous that leads to make mistakes that will upset him again.

Do you have same experience?

Re: boss gives no time
I have a co-worker who is like this. I try to start out by saying I will work on it and give it to her when I am done. That doesn't always work and I try to give a timeline to help but in the end it is my co-worker's choice to hover. I don't know how your relationship is with your boss but you could try the timeline.

Re: boss gives no time
My old boss used to be exactly like this! I finally had to tell him that it actually takes LONGER when he hovers. I also told him that all he had to do was say "Top Priority" and I would drop everything else to do that task. As badgergirl says though, it's ultimately that person's decision to hover. And it's a waste of their time. But if your boss chooses to do that, block him out and concentrate on the work. My boss used to literally stand over my shoulder and tell me when i made a typo or something - as if I wasn't going to go through and edit it before it got to his desk! It's irritating, but apparently, it's common.

Re: boss gives no time
Thank you Chrissy & badgergirl! I will find a time to tell him what I feel. I'm sure he will understand, he better do...
Thanks again!
