Outlook Contacts
I need to know if there is a way to speed up my searches in Outlook Contacts. I search for contacts several times a day, and it seems it might be quicker to grab the phone book. Can someone help?

You may want to try http://www.xobni.com/ it is free software that I use and find it fantastic!

Xobni is the Outlook plug-in that saves you time finding email conversations, contacts and attachments.

After a quick install, you'll see the new Xobni toolbar appear in Outlook - and suddenly information will become much easier to find. When a new email arrives, the sender's full communication history appears in the Xobni sidebar, including past conversations, attachments and contact details. Xobni also includes a blazing fast email / contact search tool.

Re: Outlook Contacts
I keep my Outlook Contacts in "Phone View" so I can sort it to find a number by either Company Name or Full Name. You can also click the "Find" button on the toolbar and type in the name that you are looking for. If there numbers that you use more often that others, I would suggest setting up a new contact folder in Outlook to store your frequently used numbers. That way, when you need to find one of those numbers fast, they are in a special folder.

I use a search program called x1 and it's a lifesaver - not expensive either. Can search through email, docs, contacts, attachments, files or all at once to find what you need.

Not sure which version of Outlook you're using, but if its 2007, use the live search. It finds them as you type in the search box and allows searching in other folders. You may have to install that option...it seems like I had to turn it on or something. (its been a while!) You can find info about it in the help. I've found it one of the more useful features in outlook. You can use the live search in all of the Outlook components.

Re: Outlook Contacts
Personally, I use google desktop to search my email, calendar events, tasks and contacts. It's very quick, very low profile, and very FREE.
