These are all very good brainstorming tools. The only thing is this is good if you are brainstorming alone or all in one room. There is often the time that someone is in a remote location who can really add some valuable input.

A good WebConferencing service is imperative then. The ability to show desktops and share the actual software mentioned above is crucial to everyone being able to contribute equally, regardless of location.

Brainstorming sessions are also the time that a whiteboard is essential. It gives the freedom of just making lists of ideas and diagrams. Usually it is the main time I utilize the whiteboard in our application (I'm terrible at drawing with the mouse myself).

A key to brainstorming in my opinion is to get the ideas from a lot of brains, even those not in the same location as you.
