Re: How to Use the 43 Folders Tickler System
An EA's must have! This is a fantastic tool and it works. I picked it up from another EA (thanks Josie) who I was relieving and have taken it with me to my next position. My boss and colleagues loves it because it's simple and everything is easy to find.

Re: How to Use the 43 Folders Tickler System
I just read this post on Unclutterer that says the original 43 Folders concept was patented in 1888, under the name "Office Tickler"! Isn't that amazing that a strategy created so long ago can still be so effective today in our modern world? Even with all of our technological advances, it's the simple strategies that really work! You can read the original patent information here - which outlines the use of the system. Fascinating stuff!

Re: How to Use the 43 Folders Tickler System
I must have the original office tickler that was patented in 1988. It is called the Every Day File & Fast Sorter (Globe-Weis) and I inherited it from my predecessor. It has been taped, glued and repaired many times over the years but it is THE essential item in my bag of organizational tricks. I tried to buy a new one but they aren't out there anymore. Never thought of using files - good idea!

Re: How to Use the 43 Folders Tickler System
I read the tickle file concept in "Getting Things Done" and thought is sounded complicated. Having read this article, it sounds so much simpler, so I am going to give it a go.
