Block Contact on Outlook
Has anyone had a contact block through Outlook that they didn't intentionally block? One of the Exectutives in my office is unable to receive emails from someone even when that person just hits the reply button. She didn't intentionally block them and she has checked her junk and spam email boxes and the emails aren't there. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Re: Block Contact on Outlook
Is the person trying to send the email on the same email server? If not, I would definitely think it's trouble with the other person's email. I would suggest contacting your IT department to see if they can figure out what's going on. However, If the person who's emailing one of the executives is not on the same email server, I think that's your explanation right there. They need to contact their IT department.

Anybody else have any logical ideas?

The Exec is emailing someone at our parent company. I have check out her Outook and the problem is not her adding the person to her blocked sender list. Email server might be the problem. Could it be anything else?

Re: Block Contact on Outlook
If the Executive did block the email, you can very easily unblock it. In Outlook, go to "Actions" on the tool bar, then down "Junk Email," then to "Junk Email Options." In the "Junk Email Options" pop-up click the "Block Senders" tab. You can then view all the senders that you have blocked. Once you find the address blocked in error, highlight it and click "Remove." It will then remove the block.

Check with both IT departments regarding the executive and their white lists... one subtle revision behind the scenes and a user can be easily blocked; you may not even be aware someone has made any changes behind the scenes.
A similar situation happened to a co-worker of mine last year; I offered to look into the issue for him. I ended up acting as a liaison between my company's IT dept. and our supplier's IT dept. Long story short...
Our IT dept. made a very slight change to my co-worker's email address & this resulted in his being bounced out from the other company's white-list... Both companies worked to resolve the issue & in the end result a very simple addition to the other company's white-list was all that was needed to correct the situation...

Final Result = Restored Connection + Improved Communication with Supplier & our own IT department. A Win-Win for all!

Re: Block Contact on Outlook
If the email has an attachment some companies block attachments being sent from outside sources which results in the entire email being rejected. We had this problem once and could not receive any emails from our broker.
