Re: PDF Files
Hey there - not stupid at ALL Judy!!
If you have Adobe Pro on your computer, you can create a PDF when you're in the document (in Word or Excel for example). Just go to "print" and select Adobe PDF instead of a printer. It generates the new PDF file and it pops up on the screen. Then just save it. You might not have the version of Adobe that allows you to create PDFs. A lot of people just use the reader version that allows you to read them only. So, in that case, you can use a free online PDF converter. Just Google it and you'll find several. We are starting a new column next month (July) called Daily Tech Tips (by Katie Gatto - an OA member). One of her first articles is called "Painless PDF Conversion" so believe me, this is a topic a lot of people want to know about! You're not alone!! |

Re: PDF Files
If you are using the 2007 version of Microsoft Office products, you can also create a .PDF of any document you are working on. For example, with a Word doc you can click on the Windows circle in the top left corner of the window, go down to Save As and choose the option to save as "PDF or XPS".

Re: PDF Files
Now that I know how to create pdf files, here's part 2 of my question. Hope I can explain it right...
I have an excel file and have 4 worksheets (is that what it's called) the tabs on the bottom of one file? Can I create the WHOLE file on one pdf or do I need to do each one seperately? |

Re: PDF Files
Ok - I just tried it and here's the deal: When you convert to PDF, it only takes the page you're on. If you have multiple pages in your workbook (the tabs at the bottom of the file) then you'll need to create a PDF for each sheet. Then, you need to merge them all together into one PDF. In Adobe, you just click on the "combine files" button which lets you select which files to include. I don't know if you can do this with a free converter, but you might. See if there is a function that says "combine" or "merge" or something similar.
Good luck!! |

Re: PDF Files
Well, guess it won't work on the free converter so I'll just do each worksheet seperately. Thank you very much though for trying. But at least if I do ever have the correct software I'll know how to do it know. I really appreciate all your help.
