Day 1 - Internet Explorer, What About it?
To Browse: To search through or examine a directory tree of files, directories, disks, workstations, workgroups, or domains. ...
I still remember the first time I experienced the Internet in a PC, I went to my friends house and he said that they just got the Internet installed, and there I was so excited to see it for the first time. The computer was running Windows 95 and it was a Dell, after the computer booted up we were looking at the wallpaper, the icons, the start button, just trying to find the internet!, where was it? All of a sudden his dad comes up and says click the E-Icon to connect to the internet and off we go... That was a few years ago but things haven't changed that much, we are still using the same icon Internet Explorer to browse the internet but now we have more competitors, smarter competitors. We've seen them all: Netscape, IE, Mozilla, Opera, Firefox, Safari, but the question remains which one is the best of all, what is the difference between each one of them and how will it make my internet experience a better one, faster one and secure one. Today, I will try to show you in plain words what unique features each one of these contenders provide to us and let you choose what way to go, also I will provide links for you to download them. This is a 3 DAY Review for each one of the top three browsers out there, IE, FIREFOX and SAFARI. So today I will post IE, tomorrow FIREFOX and Friday we are closing it with SAFARI. I. DAY1 INTERNET EXPLORER ![]() Internet Explorer is the free browser that comes with every copy of Microsoft Windows. It's latest version is 7.0 and you can download it @ Internet Explorer: Home Page. IE provides a plethora of improvements from IE6.0. Tabbed Browsing ![]() Tabbed browsing allows you to open multiple sites within one window. This feature was first introduced by Firefox Browser which we'll talk about later on this review. This feature is one of my favorites since it allows me to browse all the sites that I normally see during the day and keep them well organized within one window. Better Printing ![]() The problem with past versions of IE was that printing for websites was very difficult, I used to print almost 30 pages in blank when all I wanted was an article in the page, since then IE has addressed this issue with a better printing console that fits all the content and images within one page for easy reading. RSS ![]() RSS feed reading is builted in the browser, so now you can subscribe to RSS feeds like OfficeArrow by just clicking the RSS logo. Security ![]() A visual enhancement for security has been added to show a red bar when their is a problem with a security certificate within a site and a green one when all is secured. This is a new standard that Online Banking industries are adding to their sites. __________________
