Re: Planning International Travel
I'm going on a trip to Greece in a few weeks and appreciate the excellent information. One thing I'd add is to make sure you leave a photocopy of your passport with relatives or friends back home as well as bring a copy on your person. This helps expedite the process if your passport gets lost or stolen. It also helps family locate you in case you get lost!

It's also a good idea to keep a copy of your passport in your luggage, in case you lose your actual passport. You'll have a copy on hand which can help getting it replaced at the local consulate or embassy.

For time zone issues, I'm a big fan of timeanddate.com. They have a number of good tools for dealing with time zones, including a conference call tool for setting up calls in multiple time zones. I used to use it to set up calls on 4 different continents.
