Re: Should I get a Blackberry?
You should definitely invest in some PDA. I have learned some really great options that the I-Phone provides, but I currently have a bb and love it to death. I especially love the phone as modem capabilities. With a company laptop, I have the option to power up anywhere. Additionally, while interviewing for my present E.A. position, just the sheer mention boosted my brownie points.

Re: Should I get a Blackberry?
I just ordered the bb curve from Verizon. As an existing member and with the online purchase credit, I got it for less than $75 with pouch. I've used bb's for years and was forced to use another "off brand" at one company. There was NO comparison. And now that I can link it to my computer as the modem -- I don't have to buy a wireless card -- Bonus!

Re: Should I get a Blackberry?
Oh how I miss my iPhone! I picked the iPhone up during its first release, a little over a year ago, and was recently talked into buying a Blackberry Curve. I've been using the Curve for almost a month now and am eager to bring it back. There were only 2 things that I liked about the Blackberry: its GPS/Navigation which is an added feature for $9.99 more/month and its ability to remain connected to AIM/GoogleTalk. The cons: the font is tiny, no wifi, the screen is small, there are way too many icons on the home page (which I realize can be customized; but who has the time?), web pages do not display well, and if you're not a big fan of the trackball - this is definitely not the phone for you. Now, the iPhone, its best feature is the web browser. Most pages display like they would on a monitor. Its simplicity is undervalued: getting around is easy. Access to folders created in your email account/profile is another added benefit. You'll be surprised. Team iPhone!!

Re: Should I get a Blackberry?
I highly recommend a phone with email access and full keyboard. I don't have a Blackberry but have the BlackJack II from AT&T instead. I love it! It is great to have a full keyboard and access to all my email accounts, especially while traveling last week to NOLA for IAAP conference. I didn't bring my computer and was glad to know that I could check my email all week.

Go for it!

I have the BlackBerry Curve and just love it! The qwerty keyboard works great for me. I would be lost (literally) at times without the GPS...so cool! I had the BlackBerry Pearl and it was nice...great size but I like the keyboard on the Curve much better. I'm a Verizon customer and am very happy with their excellent customer service.

Re: Should I get a Blackberry?
I just got a BB Curve 8320 and absolutely love it. Before the curve I had the Pearl for about a week and returned it for the Curve. The Pearl was extremely slowwww. To learn the sure type or T9 feature made me tired just thinking about it. The picture quality was not the best and it didn't have recording capability. I love the curves keyboard and the speed while browsing or downloading apps and even switching between functions. The difference is like night and day. I have downloaded pics from my computer to the BB and vice versa. I can download music from my Itunes to my BB. I have bluetoothed pics, ringtones and videos from my previous phone (Sony Ericsson W5801) to my BB seamlessly. I do suggest you get a memory card. My boss has the Iphone and loves it. She can download movies from Itunes and play them on her Iphone for her daughter to watch. She downloads tunes from Itunes and syncs the Iphone with her Ipod's library. She can download home videos from her video camera and has tons of pics stored. She syncs all of it with her Mac and her Apple Tv. She says it's so easy anyone can do it. But for work she has the BB so it depends on what you are going to use the phone for. I think the BB is a more durable, tough phone and has come along way. Apple with their touch screen is a little more delicate and needs to work on the quinks a little more. It might take a few more versions before they get to where BB is at.

Re: Should I get a Blackberry?
I have used BlackBerries for years and I love them! They are the only phones I'll buy. I have had the BlackBerry Curve since it first came out and just purchased a new Curve. It is very convienant to have my email right there, along with my calendar, and task list. I use the Google Mobile applications. The Google Sync is the best thing. I can sync my Google calendar to my BB calendar OTA.

Ceci, you mentioned that one of the cons for you was the lack of WIFI. The BB Curve 8320 has WIFI. Also, it is a snap to hide and move icons on the home screen. I agree that the web pages do not display too well, but I recently downloaded the Opera Mini browser, which seems to have a much better display. I do have an iPod touch and when I am at home or somewhere with WIFI, I do prefer to use it's Safari browser over my BB's browser. I do have a little trouble with the touch screen keyboard, which it probably just due to lack of experience using it.

Re: Should I get a Blackberry?
I do not like my BB. The keyboard is TINY and frustrating. Just went to the Apple store this weekend and checked out the iPhone and I do like the display/internet capabilities much better. I think I'm going to go a completely new direction and buy a mini notebook or netbook (Sony or Apple) and just use my cell phone as, well... a cell phone. The notebook/netbook is only 8-11 inches long and will fit very nicely in most handbags.

Re: Should I get a Blackberry?
I had a Treo (early model) and it was great until a year or so then it started "bugging out". I traded it for a Palm Sprint Centro, and I like it better. I use the web a lot; daily Bible reading & devotional, and of course email when necessary. What I reallllly like about it is: full QWERTY keyboard (I'm a woman so I have smaller fingers and I use my fingernails to push the keys, usually)
I also like that i can choose whether to download images or not when browsing the web, as well as "optimized" or "wide page" view.
I don't remember how to T9 type anymore, but since I know how to touch type, I think I prefer QWERTY. If I didn't do touch type, I might prefer the T9 typing.
My TWO main concerns for people considering the keyboard aspect are
1. the QWERTY vs. another set up, and I think that relates to your regular typing proficiency...but maybe not. My dad's a "hunt & peck" typer, and he hates T9... generational? I dunno.
2. Size and shape of the keys themselves. We women tend to use our fingernails, I believe. What about the men? How do y'all deal with those tiny keys? the keys on the Centro seem to not be designed for the big fingers of a big man. Theyare also unfriendly to using the stylus on them. So the shape of the keys themselves has something to do with ergonomics. If each key had a depression in it, then the stylus could be used on the key....
