Can you explain the advantage of doing it on an excel sheet compared to just typing each day's plan on in a word file? Sorry, I'm new with excel! Suzan

Hi Suzanne,

In my opinion, Excel takes a lot of the hassle of formatting out of the equation in using Word. However, if you feel more comfortable in Word, it may be easier for you to use it. Excel makes things look very uniform and divides information with tabs at the bottom of the page rather than using one extremely long document or several different documents. Of course, everyone has their favorite, but I recommend learning as much as you can about Excel as there are just some things it is absolutely necessary for. I actually wrote an article titled "How to Make Impressive Spreadsheets with Basic Skill" that might help. It's a super simple approach to using Excel in an Office Professional position. Hope it helps.

I can only view the instructions. I don't see worksheet pages at the bottom. How do you get to the template page?

Patricia,
The original template that Libby submitted doesn't have instructions, only tabs for daily schedules at the bottom outlined from Day 1 to Day 3. Have you tried downloading the Conference Schedule template or are you just referring to the "How to Make Impressive Spreadsheets" article?
