Try using CTRL + SHIFT + ; to add current time.
Example: 10:33 AM
Use CTRL + ; For Current Date.
this may help you when you are busy and want to type current date and time.

I have been using notepad for years with a icon in the start pop up window. Each time the shortcut is clicked notepad opens my notepad file phone.txt. In a notepad txt file if the first four characters in the file are .LOG then each time the file opens notepad enters the date and time for you.

This is leftover from Windows 3.1. It works till it hits a memory limit. Save as a historical file, clear the slate and start a new log. Enjoy. Mr. A
